DESCRIPTION:Join Neighbors for A Safer Austin Street on August 12th @ 10am
  for an opportunity to do some crowdsourced surveying. This event will pro
 vide participants with first hand knowledge of the existing dimensions of 
 pedestrian infrastructure on Austin Street. \n\nWe will be using Field Pap
 ers to make annotations to Austin Street and surrounding streets. We’ll 
 be using instruments like measuring wheels and tape to estimate the total 
 width of the sidewalks and marked crossings.\n\nWe’ll also note where ot
 her important street infrastructure exists\, such as street trees\, benche
 s\, curb cuts and tactile markers for people with disabilities.\n\nData co
 llected will be uploaded onto OpenStreetMap and shared with the local comm
 unity board.\n\nEvent is open to all age groups. Participants under 18 yea
 rs old must be accompanied by an adult.\n\nEvent is weather permitting. Wi
 ll reschedule to a later time in the event of inclement weather\n\nEstimat
 ed event duration: 2 hours\n\nMeet at at the 71st Avenue / Queens Boulevar
 d on the south side by the 71st Avenue subway entrance\n\nNote: photos wil
 l be taken of event volunteers. If you are not comfortable with your photo
