DESCRIPTION:The Free and Open Source for Geospatial Europe (FOSS4GE) confe
 rence is the\nEuropean branch event of the Open Source Geospatial Foundati
 on ([OSGeo](https://www.osgeo.org/)) annual conference.\n\nFOSS4G conferen
 ces are about software. Yes\, but not only. They are \na forum to bring to
 gether software developers\, users\, and advocates \nfor FOSS4G to discuss
  and present over a wide array of topics ranging \nfrom state-of-software 
 to specific use cases\, from building and \nsustaining a community to buil
 ding a business around FOSS4G \ntechnology\, from software technical detai
 ls to democratic processes \nand policy making.\n\nFOSS4G has been the pla
 ce where you go for the vibe of the Open Source \ngeo-community\, where yo
 u see the latest developments\, find the \nlatest new super library\, or h
 ear of that new innovative product or \nservice. It is the place where you
  meet the people who wrote the books \nyou read in University\, who's blog
 s and social media accounts you follow. \n\nThe international conference s
 eries started in 2004 under the name FOSS/GRASS\nUser Conference and has b
 een known as FOSS4G since 2006. The European regional\nbranch of the confe
 rence dates back to 2012 when the first FOSS4G Central and\nEastern Europe
  (FOSS4G-CEE) was held in Prague\, Czechia. Set to take place when\nthe in
 ternational conference is not in Europe\, the European edition has since\n
 then visited Bucharest\, Romania (2013)\; Bremen\, Germany (2014)\;\nComo\
 , Italy (2015)\; Paris\, France(2017)\; Guimarães\, Portugal (2018).\n\nI
 n co-operation with the [Estonian Geoinformatics Society](https://estgis.e
 e/en/) \nand [University of Tartu](https://ut.ee/en) \n[Department of Geog
 raphy](https://geograafia.ut.ee/en) the local \norganizing committee is ve
 ry excited to invite you to Tartu\, Estonia in the \nbeginning of July 202
 4. This is the time of shortest nights (and hopefully) the \nbest weather 
 of the year!\n\n2024 also marks the year that Tartu will be one of the Eur
