 eal difference in disaster recovery without leaving your desk or country?\
 n\nJoin the Planning Insitute of Australia's (PIA) Urban Data Network (Vic
 toria) for a Missing Maps Map Party\, where urban planners\, data enthusia
 sts\, and curious newcomers come together to put vulnerable communities on
  the map.\n\nWe will be mapping in person in Melbourne\, Australia.\nPleas
 e note there is a ticket charge $10 for PIA members and $20 for non-member
 s. TIckets are managed by the PIA website.\n\nEach year\, disasters strike
  areas that lack reliable maps\, making it harder for emergency responders
  to deliver aid. The Missing Maps initiative empowers volunteers to trace 
 roads\, buildings\, and infrastructure on OpenStreetMap\, creating vital o
 pen data used by humanitarian organisations worldwide.\n\nThis session wil
 l focus on mapping to support response efforts\, helping recovery teams re
 ach isolated communities.\n\nNo experience? No problem. \n\nYou’ll recei
 ve a short tutorial on using intuitive GIS tools\, work alongside friendly
  mentors\, and enjoy pizza\, good company\, and a shared sense of purpose.
