DESCRIPTION:The topic of the third meeting of the Collaborative and Humani
tarian Mapping course will be the collaborative and open mapping of inform
al settlements in Bogotà and Soacha. This project is part of the master t
hesis work conducted by Maria Alejandra Rojas Bolanos and Silvia Raviscion
i\, two PoliMi architecture EDA students that included for the first time
this work in a case study for the application of IMM methodology to slums
in Colombia. This event is in collaboration with IMM Design Lab with the c
oordination of Professor Massimo Tadi\, who is also the supervisor of the
thesis previously described. The event will be part of an inter-continenta
l cooperation made possible by the activities conducted by TECHO Colombia
in Bogota. Their volunteers\, indeed\, in the past weeks have collected a
significant amount of photo sequences on field with Mapillary after having
attended a practical training session with Polimappers officers.\nDuring
the event\, after a first introduction about the context of the mapathon\,
our President Chiara Ponti and Faculty Advisor Federica Gaspari will invo
lve the attendants in a training about the joint use of JOSM editor and Ma
pillary photo sequences for updating the OpenStreetMap database. The mapat
hon will focus in particular on urban services that will be crucial for th
e application of IMM methodology. Participants will work on TeachOSM platf
orm. Do not forget to bring your laptop and mouse to contribute in the mos
t comfortable way.\nThe event will be hosted both in presence and virtuall
 y. For people who would like to follow the events in person\, the referenc
e room at Politecnico di Milano - Città Studi is 25.0.2\nPoliMi students
that are interested could register to the webinar series as part of the "C
ollaborative and Humanitarian Mapping" innovative teaching course (https:/
/www.polimi.it/.../innovative.../course-detail/...) and at the end of the
course they will have their attendance recognised with 2 extra CFU in thei
r Diploma Supplement.\nThe course is open and freely accessible also to pe
ople not enrolled in any Politecnico di Milano tracks. If you'd like to re
ceive reminder for the events with the Zoom link attached\, please fill th
is form with your contact details: https://forms.gle/m6z2yVz1Kaqtxu5z5\nWe
